Ingrédients

For the Salmon
  • 4 fillets salmon fillets Ensure they are fresh or properly thawed.
  • 1/4 cup soy sauce Tamari can be used for a gluten-free option.
  • 1/4 cup honey Can substitute with maple syrup for a vegan alternative.
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil Can also use avocado oil or any neutral oil.
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced Fresh garlic enhances the flavor.
  • 1 tablespoon ginger, minced Fresh ginger is preferred.
  • Salt and pepper to taste Use fresh ground pepper for better flavor.
  • Chopped green onions for garnish Optional, adds a fresh crunch.

Method

Make the Glaze
  1. In a small bowl, whisk together the soy sauce, honey, olive oil, minced garlic, and minced ginger until well combined.
  2. Allow the glaze to sit for a few minutes to enhance its aroma.
Season the Salmon
  1. Season the salmon fillets generously with salt and pepper on both sides.
Heat the Skillet
  1. Heat a non-stick skillet over medium-high heat.
  2. Checking temperature: Add a splash of water to the skillet; once it sizzles, it's ready.
Cook the Salmon
  1. Place the salmon fillets skin-side down in the skillet and pour the glaze over the top.
  2. Let salmon sear for 5-6 minutes undisturbed for that crispy skin.
Flip and Finish Cooking
  1. After 5-6 minutes, carefully flip the salmon fillets and cook for an additional 3-4 minutes, or until cooked through.
Serve and Garnish
  1. Remove the salmon from the skillet and serve hot, garnished with chopped green onions if desired.
  2. Drizzle extra glaze from the skillet over the salmon before serving.
