Preparation
- Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).

- In another bowl, cream together butter and sugar until light and fluffy.
- Gradually add the dry mixture to the creamed mixture, then mix in the milk until a soft dough forms.
- Roll the dough out to about 1/4-inch thickness and cut into squares.
- Wrap the cored apples in the dough squares, sealing them tightly.
Baking
- Arrange the wrapped apples in a greased baking dish.
- In a saucepan, combine brown sugar, water, and vanilla extract. Bring to a boil and pour over dumplings.
- Bake for 30-35 minutes, or until golden brown and cooked through.
Serving
- Serve warm, drizzled with the sauce from the baking dish.
- Optional: Top with vanilla ice cream for extra delight.
