For the Batter
  • 1.5 cups pancake mix You can substitute with a homemade batter, but texture may vary.
  • 1 large egg Large egg for binding.
  • 1 cup milk Whole milk is preferred; low-fat or non-dairy options are acceptable.
  • 2 teaspoons vegetable oil Plus more for frying.
  • 1/4 cup powdered sugar For dusting before serving.

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Remove the frozen cheesecake from its packaging and cut it into small 1-inch squares.
  2. Keep the cheesecake pieces in the freezer while you prepare the batter.
Frying
  1. Heat about 3 inches of vegetable oil to 360°F (182°C).
  2. In a mixing bowl, combine the pancake mix, egg, milk, and 2 teaspoons of vegetable oil. Whisk until smooth.
  3. Dip each frozen cheesecake square into the batter ensuring they are fully coated.
  4. Carefully place the coated cheesecake squares into the hot oil and fry for 3-4 minutes until golden brown.
  5. Remove with a slotted spoon and let drain on paper towels or a cooling rack.
Serving
  1. Dust the warm Fried Cheesecake with powdered sugar and serve immediately.
