  • 1 cup Heavy cream Substitute with half-and-half or low-fat milk for a lighter version.
  • 2 tablespoons Lemon juice Preferably fresh.
  • 1 tablespoon Lemon zest Adds vibrant flavor.
  • 1/2 cup Grated Parmesan cheese Taste for saltiness before adding additional salt.
  • 1/4 cup Fresh basil, chopped For garnish and flavor.

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Cook the tortellini: Boil salted water, add tortellini, and cook according to package instructions (about 3-5 minutes for fresh). Drain and set aside.
  2. Sauté the garlic: Heat olive oil in a pot over medium heat, add minced garlic, and sauté for 1-2 minutes until fragrant.
  3. Make the creamy base: Pour in heavy cream, lemon juice, and lemon zest, stirring until well combined.
  4. Combine with tortellini: Add the drained tortellini to the pot and mix until coated with the sauce.
  5. Incorporate cheese and season: Mix in grated Parmesan cheese until melted. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
  6. Garnish and serve: Serve in bowls, garnished with fresh basil. Optionally drizzle with olive oil or sprinkle more Parmesan on top.
