  • 1 head cauliflower, cut into florets The star of this recipe! Can substitute with broccoli.
  • 1 cup flour All-purpose flour or gluten-free flour can be used.
  • 1 cup water
  • 1 cup hot sauce Frank’s RedHot is recommended, but any brand or homemade can work.
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder For added flavor.
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder For added flavor.
  • to taste salt and pepper Adjust according to preference.
  • As needed Olive oil spray For a crispy finish.

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Preheat your oven to 450°F (230°C).
  2. In a bowl, whisk together flour, water, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper until smooth.
  3. Individually dip each cauliflower floret into the batter, allowing excess to drip off.
  4. Place the battered cauliflower on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
  5. Lightly spray the coated cauliflower with olive oil.
  6. Bake for 20-25 minutes or until the cauliflower is golden brown and crispy.
Saucing
  1. In a separate bowl, combine the hot sauce with melted butter (if using).
  2. Once the cauliflower is cooked, toss it in the hot sauce mixture until fully coated.
  3. Place the sauced cauliflower back in the oven for another 10 minutes.
  4. For extra crunch, use the broiler setting for the last few minutes of baking.
Serving
  1. Let them cool for a couple of minutes before serving.
  2. Serve hot with your favorite dipping sauce.
