Gingerbread People

| 3/4 | cup | butter, softened (1 1/2 sticks, no substitutions) |
| 3/4 | cup | firmly packed brown sugar |
| 1/4 | cup | molasses |
| 1 | x | egg |
| 3 | cup | all-purpose flour |
| 2 | tsp | ground cinnamon |
| 2 | tsp | ground ginger |
| 1 | tsp | ground allspice |
| 1/2 | tsp | baking soda |
| Commercially prepared icing tubes | ||
How to cook :
Beat butter, brown sugar and molasses until light and fluffy, about 3 minutes; beat in egg.
Combine flour, cinnamon, ginger, allspice and baking soda.
Stir into butter mixture.
Gather into a ball, wrap and refrigerate overnight.
Preheat oven to 375 degrees.
Lightly grease cookie sheets.
Divide dough into 2 balls.
Roll out each ball to 1/4 inch thickness on a lightly floured surface.
Cut with cookie cutters dipped in flour.
Place on greased baking sheet 1 inch apart.
Repeat with remaining dough.
Bake 6 to 10 minutes, or until no indentation remains when the cookies are touched.
Place cookies on wire rack to cool thoroughly.
Decorate as desired.
