Apfel Kuchen

| BASIC SWEET DOUGH | ||
| 2 | pkt | Dry yeast |
| 1/2 | cup | Warm water |
| 4 | cup | Flour |
| 2/3 | cup | Sugar |
| 1 | tsp | Salt |
| 3/4 | cup | Butter |
| 1/2 | cup | Milk, scalded, cooled |
| 2 | lrg | Eggs, slightly beaten |
| 2 | tbl | Butter, melted |
| APPLE FILLING | ||
| 4 | cup | Apples, peeled, cored, slice |
| 1/4 | cup | Butter, melted |
| 1/4 | cup | Sugar |
| 1/4 | tsp | Cinnamon |
How to cook :
SWEET DOUGH: Sprinkle yeast over warm water; stir to dissolve.
Combine flour, sugar, and salt in large mixing bowl.
Cut in butter until mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
Add combined milk, eggs, and yeast to dry ingredients; mix well.
Brush with butter. Cover; chill overnight.
APFEL KUCHEN: Bring dough to room temperature.
Divide dough in half; spread into 2 buttered 8" square pans.
Press apples into dough.
Brush dough with butter.
Sprinkle with combined sugar and cinnamon.
Cover; let dough rise in warm place until doubled.
Bake in preheated 350 F oven 40-45 minutes or until wooden pick inserted in center comes out clean.
